What was once a rural area outside of Melbourne to now the newly developed suburb of Cylde North lies the The Volt Café. Located in a new shopping precinct which is quickly turning into trendy café territory catering for locals.

Owner Cathy has a Lebanese background & Maki who was born and raised in Greece have both grown up in the hospitality scene – we were excited to know we were going to be in good hands!! The couple knew they always wanted to open something of their own. Spending their days off trying Melbourne’s top cafes. These guys have done their research!

Cathy who suffers from coeliac disease wanted to create a space where everyone can eat everything on the menu – no matter what there is something for you! Maki showcases his love and passion for the perfect coffee using Proud Mary to create a flawless cup.

Teaming up with head chef Marshi (ex head chef at Trei Café in Glen Waverley) the team have created a menu where naughty meets nice! Creating your naughty dishes with a twist – gluten free and natural sweeteners we had to have a taste! The Fairy Hot Cakes were mind-blowing – white chocolate ganache, pistachio & maple syrup. You would never be able to tell the difference! This is a dish you can fool the kids with!?!?!?

We then went for the sweet vs savoury dish – you can’t go past these ones!! The Volt Brekkie Board or the everyone’s favourite – Cathy’s mums secret Zaatar spice recipe with has been combined with the avocado & feta smash!
