A café that everyone can enjoy! The Hatter & The Hare is the newest eatery to hit Bayswater. The café sits in an industrial space which was once a kitchen show room and enjoys a hint of quirkiness which you will have to go and check out!
This truly is a family business with sisters Becky and Coners Buada, husband and wife Vinnie and Mary Kodladi, and Mary’s brother George Dardamanis.
The café came about when the team held a series of high tea events for the Cancer Council’s Biggest High Tea. It became such a hit they wanted to find a permanent space to show case so much more of what they have to offer.
Making sure everything is made on site George and Coner start baking at 3am each morning to make sure the sweets cabinet is full! Their fine detail on their cakes will have you wanting to buy each and everyone one!
The main kitchen is run by head chef Kyle who was previously at Hatch & Co. (in lilydale) has created the mouth-watering menu. Each dish on the menu touches on a Alice and Wonderland such as ‘Down the Rabbit Hole’ & ‘Tweedledee and Tweedledum’ just to name a few! Just reading the menu will make you smile… then wait until you see the food!
We recommend dishes such as ‘The Celebration Dance’ (sharing for two) chef’s selection of savoury and sweet breakfast items or ‘Beneictine Adventure’ pressed pork shoulder, hash brown, apple, poached eggs, yuzu hollandaise, pork scratchings or the ‘The Queen of Hearts’ spiced custard sourdough, lemon verbena, berries, orange and earl grey ricotta honeycomb are worth a try!
Serving up Five Senses coffee, Golden Grind golden lattes, Mork hot chocolate and matcha lattes – There’s nothing The Hatter & The Hare doesn’t do!
