This father-son duo is taking Heidelberg by storm – what was once the Green Orange cafe has been transformed into a mind-blowing modern café which opened its doors early this year.
The father within this duo Said has over 30 years in hospitality and has owned over 10 cafes. Son, Heeb El-Bay is following in his father’s footsteps. After graduating Sports Management, Heeb spent nine months travelling around the United States finding inspiration for his next chapter. Heeb has taken over the front of house for The Alleyway, bringing a young fresh style to the café.
This is a modern Melbourne style cafe with a vintage American twist – think fresh summer acai bowls with a naughty side of buffalo wings – just a hint of what you will see at The Alleyway.
Using the best in local and seasonal produce with everything made fresh to order – this is a menu full of colour and bursting with flavour. The duo have plenty of gluten free and dairy free options to assure there is something for everyone. We can promise you’ll be coming back for me.
The dishes we couldn’t go past were the ultimate summer dish ‘Acai Superbowl’ topped with granola, chia seeds, kiwi fruit, mango, banana, strawberries, blueberries, yoghurt & hazelnut crumb
If acai isn’t your thing be sure to try the ‘Smashed Pumpkin’ roast pumpkin, pumpkin seeds, rocket, goats cheese, cumin yoghurt & a poached egg, served on a bed of herb crumbed.
The gluten free ‘Buckwheat Pancakes’ honey cinnamon mascarpone, berry compote & fresh seasonal fruits will have your mouth-watering all day long!
It doesn’t stop there – the best summer smoothies, cold press juices and speciality thick shakes. Serving up the best in Veneziano Estate coffee to keep you going all day long!
The Alleyway is your next breakfast go to – there’s something for everyone does not matter what age group.
