Patrick Craig and Ben Gisonda are the duo behind the earthly and contemporary Armadale café Forest Green. Chefs, Patrick and Ben both began their careers at Grossi Florentino before branching out and opening their own restaurants. 20 years on the best friend duo have come back together and used their passion for food and coffee to create a café that is influenced and inspired by their Italian background.
Forest Green has been in business for 2 years now and the guys behind it really focus on creating traditional and contemporary dishes sourced from only the finest quality Victorian produce. They ensure everything on their menu from their jams to cured fish is made from scratch with Italian love. In the warmer months, you will find the guys out the front holding farmers markets for the locals selling their homemade preserves, sauces & jams; Italian inspired homemade pasta.
Whether it is the Forest Green Big Breakfast or simply their crushed avocado with poached eggs (a crowd favorite), there isn’t a dish on the menu you can fault. They are located a short walk from the Malvern Town Hall with trading hours commencing from 6.30am 7 days a week. You can also join Forest Green once a month for a four-course BYO dinner at $45 per person.
