Stepping in to Miss Ruben’s Canteen, you’d be surprised to know this building originally hosted a bank.
With gorgeous brass and exposed iron railings, this venue is chic, welcoming with an art-deco feel that immediately brings warmth.
Eddie Atkin (Ex Head Chef at Coin Laundry, Two Birds One Stone & Baker D. Chirico) has taken a unique and modern take on New York deli food that we here at MBD love… Buttermilk Pancakes with Poached Strawberries, Lemon Curd, Organic Maple Syrup DOUBLE cream and Pistachio Floss was a hit with us at 8:00am. Of course, like any good New York deli, there’s pastrami on the breakfast menu too in the form of the brekkie Ruben – matched with fried egg, sirarcha mayo and greens on a Kaiser roll or on rye. Check out the menu here.
And if you thought Eddie’s breakfast sounds good, wait until you try the salads whipped up daily by the kitchen – daily… why because we all know that everybody likes to be surprised. For those who are time poor, Miss Ruben has you covered…with incredibly tasty take home options like their slow-cooked meat, lasagnes or Italian meatballs, it’s the perfect way to settle in for Netflix and Chill (or #netflixandmissrubens in this case).
