We at MBD are keen jelly beans when it comes to venturing out with our trusty pooch sidekicks, even if it means they just watch us eat the good stuff and give us those mopey eyes which actually translate to ‘FEED ME HUMAN’. These are the places you can bring your dog along, to then have them jealously watch you with the hopes of you dropping food off your plate (it’s totally what they’re thinking).
Big outdoor space
Baby Café & Pizzeria is located in Richmond & open 7 days a week (from 7am) and serves all day. They offer take-away food until late and specialise in Italian deliciousness. If you’re headed in for breakfast you’ll find some incredible juices (squeezed to order), toasted panini’s, breakie pizzas (SO good), house-made pastries and fantastic single-origin coffee. Their huge outdoor space also means pooch can come along for the fun too!
Address: 631-633 Church Street, Richmond
Plenty of outside space
Patch Café is nestled inside the restored Studio 9 in Richmond and offers some incredible clean eating options (which are all paleo inspired). The venue is opened Wednesday through to Monday (closes on Tuesday) and offers an intimate, inviting and simple (yet delicious) menu. The food demonstrates how committed this café is to their clean eating values and the outside space is roomy and comfortable; you and pooch will love it!
Address: 1/32 Bendigo Street, Richmond
Located next to the tan
The Kettle Black is located conveniently next to ‘The Tan’ and is open 7 days. An awesome part about visiting Kettle black with your puppy pal is that after (or before) breakfast can hit the pavement for a run (or walk, whatever suits you!). This venue has a chilled out vibe with some incredible food options that will certainly make you feel like you’re inside MORE than just a ‘café’. Definitely a venue not to be missed.
Address: 50 Albert Road, South Melbourne
The Farm Café is located in Abbotsford (at the Collingwood children’s farm) and is possibly one of the most gorgeous venues you will eat at in the outer (about 20minutes) suburbs of Melbourne. They’re café provides an open atmosphere and different feeling to many suburban and inner city cafes which we absolutely love. They are also extremely dog friendly, as long as your dog is kept on a leash!
Address: 18 St Heliers St, Abbotsford
Gardiner and Field is located on a quiet corner in Armadale, which allows this venue to be chilled, relaxed, homely and very cruisey. It’s perfect for those who want to sit down in a great environment for a conversation over coffee and food and the best part it, there is a dog park RIGHT next door so after breakie/lunch you can take pup along for some fun!
Address: 43 Union Street, Armadale 3143
